The response from the Acting Commissioner of Police, McDonald Jacob, to the fact that this country ranks as having the 6th highest crime rate in the world in the recent 2022 World Population Review is a cause for major concern. This is according to MP for Oropouche West, Davendranath Tancoo.
The Oropouche MP maintained the fact that this country is experiencing runaway crime cannot be covered up by statistical manipulation, PR stunts or misdirection declared
He says while the Acting CoP declared this was “not all bad news,” for citizens of the country who live in the real world, this is HORRENDOUS news!
He said that the fact that he holds this view suggests an inability or refusal to see the situation realistically.
Tancoo says that recently the Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds, boasted in Parliament about the detection rate being 34 percent however he said this is nothing to be proud about.
