MOWT To Launch Electronic Vehicle Inspection System At Sookhai’s Diesel Service

The Electronic Vehicle Inspection System will be launched tomorrow at Sookhai’s Diesel Service Limited, IDC Industrial Estate, Biljah Road Extension, Charlieville, at 11am.

The Corporate Communication Unit of the Ministry of Works and Transport says this new system forms part of the digital transformation of the Licensing Division with the integration of technology to improve the delivery of services.

It says the objective of the Electronic Vehicle Inspection System is to ensure all vehicles are safe to operate on the nation’s roads, thus contributing to a safer transportation network.

In a media release on Thursday afternoon, the Ministry said it aims to achieve increased accountability, enhanced transparency, greater efficiency and more accuracy.

The Ministry said benefits of the new Electronic Vehicle Inspection System include an improved electronic record system (data validation), a secure data centre for storing all inspection transactions.

Real-time access to information shared among the Police, licensing officers, traffic enforcement officers and approved garages and timely reporting.
