MOWT: Temporary Traffic Disruption Along The Uriah Butler Highway From Friday

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the northbound and southbound lanes of the Uriah Butler Highway in the vicinity of the following locations.

Uriah Butler Highway 14.2km to 15km mark (northbound), in the vicinity of Unit Trust Corporation to DirecTV Trinidad Headquarters.

Uriah Butler Highway (southbound), from Rodney Road, Price Plaza to Trinidad and Tobago Guardian Media Building.

In a media release, the Ministry said this is necessary in order to facilitate cleaning works along the drainage channels, which are expected to commence on April 8th 2022 and end on April 20th.

The hours of work are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

All the lanes of the highway will remain open, however, access to the shoulder at this zone will be restricted during the period of work.

In light of the above, motorists are advised to proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and/or barriers.

Motorists should drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution, on approaching the work zone.

Comply with instructions from Flag persons on-site, to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.

Be aware of heavy equipment in the work zone and entering/exiting the site.

The Ministry of Works and Transport apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its continued co-operation.
