MOWT: Clean-Up Efforts Still Ongoing Along The Paria Main Road

The Ministry of Works and Transport says clean-up efforts are still ongoing to clear slush, and heavy debris along the Paria Main Road, to restore connectivity and vehicular access to the Grande Riviere and Matelot communities, in the shortest possible timeframe.

It says Toco and Paria Main Roads were impassable to vehicular traffic due to landslips and flooding in the area on Wednesday.

In a media release on Thursday, the Ministry said crews from the Highways Division and Mechanical Services Division were dispatched Wednesday night and joined by the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Thursday.

Members of the general public are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when traversing the area, and all other areas where landslips are prone, such as North Coast Road, and the Lady Young Road.
