The Movie Theatre Exhibitors of Movie Towne Holdings Limited, Caribbean Cinemas Limited, CinemaONE Limited and Estate 101 Limited said they have carefully reviewed the Public Health Ordinance No. 30 and have decided to remain closed.
In a media release, the Movie Theatre Exhibitors of Movie Towne Holdings Limited said due to the Prime Minister’s October 24th statement on restrictions to eating and drinking while watching movies, they have decided that it will be financially impossible to reopen cinemas without the sale of food and drinks; deeming it an essential element in their operations.
The Movie Theatre Exhibitors of Movie Towne Holdings Limited thank the Government for its acknowledgement of the importance of the cinema sector, but have agreed unanimously to remain closed for the next two weeks, until the restrictions on the sale of food and drinks to be consumed whilst watching a movie can be lifted.
