Mourners stunned as body of deceased seated at funeral

What would you do if you went to a funeral and the body of the deceased was seated in a chair at the entrance of the church?

Well that is what took place on Wednesday morning, when mourners went to pay their last respects to Che Lewis, who was gunned down on November 15 in Bagatelle Road, Diego Martin.
He was killed along with his father Adlay Lewis.

Mourners were greeted to the sight of Lewis, embalmed, well dressed and sitting on chair, instead of in a coffin.

The body was taken to the church seated in the tray of a hearse, which drove through Port of Spain and past the Office of the Prime Minister.

The funeral home which handled this bizarre arrangement was Dennie’s Funeral home.

Che’s’ last ride has since gone viral.

A report in the Express says the church was astonished and refused the entrance of the body.
