Motorists told to “get off the road” and “get to a safe area”

Get off the road as soon as possible and get yourself in a safe area.

This is the advice coming from meteorologist Gary Benjamin as he noted the upgrade in the riverine flood alert from yellow level to orange level.

He is warning people to stay away from flood waters and make preparations to protect themselves and their family.

Speaking on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show, Mr Benjamin revealed that the bad weather is expected to continue throughout the day.
