Mother of two dies in car crash in La Romaine

Precious Williams, 23 a mother of two and wife lost her life in a vehicular accident while returning home after an overnight prayer vigil early Sunday.

She lived at Hospital Street, Princes Town, sustained multiple injuries and died at the scene. Her husband who was one of three other also in the car sustained a dislocated shoulder. The three survivors were taken to hospital and warded in serious but stable condition.

Williams, her husband and a friend had attended an all-night prayer vigil at a Spiritual Baptist church in Point Fortin and were headed home in a taxi.

The crash happened at the traffic light intersection at South Trunk, La Romaine, in the vicinity of the St Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church shortly after 4 a.m. Reports indicate that driver was headed east when his car was struck from behind by another vehicle after crossing the intersection. The car was struck so violently it reportedly flipped several times. Williams was the lone fatality in the crash. Her husband was aware that she had not survived.
