Moruga man charged with sexual penetration of a minor

A Moruga man was granted $200,000 bail when he appeared virtually before a Princes Town Magistrate yesterday charged with sexual penetration of a minor.

The 25-year-old man was also instructed to stay 500 feet away from the alleged victim, a 14-year-old girl.

He will reappear before the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court on January 6th 2021.

On November 5th, the girl, in company of her mother, made a report to Southern Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) officers that during the period February 2019 to August 2020, a friend of her family allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Investigations conducted by Cpl (Ag.) Joseph, of the CPU, revealed that the girl was sexually assaulted on several occasions by the suspect.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged on December 8th with seven counts of penetration of a child.
