Mom wants to press charges after son beaten unconscious by Diego Martin North Secondary students

The mother of a 15-year-old student of the Diego Martin Central Secondary school is prepared to file charges against two students of the Diego Martin North Secondary, after they brutally attacked and beat her son unconscious.

Police are now investigating the incident, which occurred on Tuesday.

The two Diego Martin North Secondary students beat the teen, who is epileptic, and left him lying on the roadway near Jasper Avenue.

He was found by a taxi driver around 3 pm who then tried taking him to the nearby Diego Martin Health Centre.
However, reports state that while en route to the health centre, the boy suffered two epilepsy attacks.

He was eventually transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC), Mt Hope.

In a GML report, the victim’s mother, Nahida Marshall, said a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test has since showed he received no major injuries.

She said she plans on pressing charges against his attackers, who have been identified.

“Because the news could have been that my child died because he’s epileptic and it’s a serious thing and every time he gets a seizure, it damages the brain,” she cried.

Marshall said she was contacted by the police and will make a report when her son is discharged.
