Mom chopped to death in Guayaguayare

A Guayaguayare mother of three was chopped to death at her home during a domestic altercation with a man whom she knew on Wednesday.

Ellen Tishana Mohammed, 24, collapsed and died outside her home at La Brea Village.

Reports indicate her neck was almost severed in the attack.

After committing the gruesome act, a Guayaguayare man flagged down a passing police patrol vehicle and .old police officers what he had done.

When officers checked the scene, they found Mohammed, lying dead near the front doorway of her unfinished home, which overlooked the sea at La Brea Village, Guayaguayare.

Police said the murder occurred around 10.50 am in front of two of Mohammed’s three daughters, a three-year-old and 18-month-old.

Her brother Isaiah and her father Steve Jones were not at home when the tragedy occurred.

According to reports, Isaiah said his sister got involved with the man three months ago but soon became fearful for her life. When he began abusing her physically, she told her family.

He said the police never bothered to help, although they made several reports.

Mohammed’s father, Jones, also blamed the police for the tragedy, saying it could have been avoided.
