MoH receives over $60M to pay outstanding fees to contractors for hospital projects

The Standing Finance Committee gave approval during proceedings on Monday afternoon for over $115,000,000 to be given to the Ministry of Finance.

The exact amount requested by the Ministry is one hundred and fifteen million, seven hundred and sixty-nine thousand, four hundred and seventy-two dollars.

Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, said over $60,000,000 will go towards to the Ministry of Health to pay money owned to a contractor and consultant on two public hospital projects.

During the sitting, Member of Parliament for Oropouche West, Dave Tancoo, wanted to find out why an additional fifteen million dollars was directed to an IDB waste water project.

In response Minister Imbert said additional information will be brought to the committee on Wednesday.
