Principal Medical officer at the Ministry of Health (Institutions) Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards says that the Ministry of Health took steps over the weekend to address a shortage of beds in the parallel health care system.
Speaking this morning at the ministry of Health’s Covid Update she said that the ministry was able increase the number of ward level beds.
She gave a breakdown of facilities where ward level beds were increased.
She maintained however that increasing beds is not the answer to bringing down Covid numbers.
