MoH apologises for mass vaccination chaos, says an alphabetical system will now be used

In light of the chaos that emerged at Health Centres across the country today, following the launch of a first-come-first-served arrangement for vaccinations, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has apologised to the population.

Speaking at the Ministry of Health press briefing today, he admitted that they underestimated the demand for vaccines and immediately reviewed what was happening at the 36 health centres.

As a result, Deyalsingh said that starting tomorrow, an alphabetical system by surname will be implemented for persons over 60 ONLY.

This will be done in groups of 5 letters.

Tomorrow, only eligible persons whose surnames fall in the A to E category will be seen.
