MoE says no delay in distrubution of school supplies and book grants

Mere days before the new school term and many parents have yet to receive the latest $1000 book grants.

However, Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly says there is no delay in the distribution of the school supplies and book grants.

According to a GML report, the minister said, “There are 20,000 grants to be disbursed,” which she admitted is no “simple process.”

Dr Gadsby-Dolly said payments are being made daily and approximately 15,000 payments have already been disbursed.

During the week of August 5, distribution of the book grants were made to successful applicants, via direct deposit would have started.

Then, in the week of August 12, people without bank accounts, who are carded to receive cheques would have been contacted via email or telephone.
