MoE and Huawei launch Ideahub Boards

The Ministry of Education in collaboration with Huawei Technologies Trinidad and Tobago, has launched the Huawei Ideahub Boards for Schools.

The launch took place at San Juan North Secondary School on Friday 20th August.

The Ideahub has features that allow for content sharing and video conferencing, along with a built-in whiteboard.
It is expected to enhance the teaching and virtual communications capability in schools.

Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly revealed, “Almost one year ago, Huawei met T&T’s MoE and discussed how they could lend support to us and that has materialised in the donation of 100 tablets to schools across T&T, and now, ten Ideahubs installed in ten schools.”

She said, “These devices provide a tremendous opportunity for the students and also teachers.”

The minister added that this will afford teachers a greater chance to integrate smart tools into the teaching and learning syllabus.

She advised, “Education and learning will never go back to how it was pre-pandemic.”

Ideahub has been installed at the Russell Latapy Secondary School; Belmont Government Primary School; Carenage Boys Government Primary School; San Juan North Secondary School; La Horquetta South Government Primary School; Bon Air Secondary School; Guaico Government Primary School; Chaguanas North Secondary School; Fanny Village Government Primary School; and the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities in San Fernando.
