The Galil rifle that went missing from the Teteron Barracks in Chaguaramas last weekend was reportedly recovered by police officers in the Macqueripe area earlier.
The Express newspaper says while information on exactly where the weapon was found is still to come to hand, it understands that several police officers from the Western Division are on the scene.
The population will be updated on national security issues at a news briefing scheduled for 4pm today, headed by Acting Minister of National Security Marvin Gonzales.
