The Ministry of Health is expanding its vaccine rollout program.
This amid fears of a possible upsurge in the COVID and the arrival of the Delta variant.
The variant has not yet been detected among the population but health officials have warned that it is a matter of when not if it gets here.
Chief Epidemiologist, Dr Avery Hinds, speaking at yesterday’s COVID Health Briefing explained that the regional health authorities will now be taking vaccination programs to the community.
He warned that it is vital that this is done prior to the arrival of the Delta or any other more contabious variant.
Meanwhile, President of SEWA TT, Revan Teelucksingh told Guardian media that there has been a drop in demand for the vaccine at the mass vaccination site at the Divali Nagar in Chaguanas. This however he says may be because of how easily available the vaccine has become, leaving persons with many options as to where they can get vaccinated.
