Minister of Health Thanks Public For Participation In Vaccination Drive

The Minister of Health is thanking the public for their response to the COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination drive which began on January 6, 2023.

Over two thousand vaccines were administered across all locations in the four Regional Health Authorities in Trinidad.

During the launch of the vaccination drive held at the Trincity Mall Atrium recently, Minister Terrence Deyalsingh urged the public to get vaccinated given the influx of visitors expected for the upcoming Carnival season.

The Minister also encouraged the elderly and immunocompromised to get vaccinated or boosted as vaccines can provide additional protection against serious illness caused by either COVID-19 or the Influenza virus.

The vaccination drive seeks to reach and encourage persons who have never received a primary dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to get vaccinated and persons who have received the COVID-19 vaccine to get a booster dose.

Persons are also encouraged to get their Influenza vaccine at the nearest mass vaccination site or at any health centre across the country.

The vaccination drive continues every Friday and Saturday until February 4, 2023.
