Michigan woman used RentAHitman website to have her husband killed

Wendy Lynn Wein,52, of Michigan was sentenced to serve seven to 20 years in prison on Thursday for attempting to hire someone to kill her ex-husband after he stole $20,000 from her.

According to Hollywood Unlocked, Wein pleaded guilty on November 12 to using the website RentAHitman.com to hire someone to kill her husband in July 2020.

The fake website was created by IT student Bob Innes in 2005 as a class project to catch people who were actually looking to hire hitmen.

Innes discovered an application from Wein and contacted state police about her inquiry.

An undercover officer was hired to pose as a contract killer to meet up with her.
