Michelle Lee Ahye out and Keshorn in IAAF Championships in Qatar

It’s now official, T&T Sprint queen Michelle-Lee Ahye will not be among the Trinidad and Tobago athletes on show at the September 27 to October 6 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar. The provisional suspension for an anti doping rule “whereabouts” violation rules her out. Ahye had three Missed Tests in a 12-month period.

Meantime Keshorn Walcott has been named on a T&T team of 15 for the World Championships. The 2012 Olympic men’s javelin champion is one of two throwers who will represent the Red, White and Black.

Machel Cedenio is the only T&T athlete in the men’s 400m. Cedenio is expected to perform the anchorleg role for the team. The dream team also includes Richards, two-time IAAF World Indoor Championship 400m bronze medallist Deon Lendore, Darren Alfred, Onal Mitchell and Asa Guevara. Jereem Richards and Kyle Greaux are also listed for the men’s 200 metres.
