Mexico Reports ‘catastrophic’ 568 More Deaths from COVID-19

Health authorities reported 568 more deaths from coronavirus COVID-19, for a total of 97 thousand 624 deaths confirmed by disease.

In addition, they confirmed 5,558 more cases, so that 997 thousand 393 people have fallen ill so far in the epidemic.

Of the 1,556,000 cases that are estimated to have occurred in the country, 50,552 (4%) are people with active COVID-19 disease.

At the end of week 44 of the epidemic, the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell explained in daily conference that cases have been reduced 11%, and that recoveries increased 4%.

However, he indicated that in the same period deaths increased 3%.

Of the suspected deaths from COVID-19, there are 10,748 of which there is no sample to process in the laboratory; out of 4,254 a sample was obtained, but there is no possibility of a result, as it did not reach a laboratory, it was rejected.
