MET Office warns of heavy concentration of Sahara dust

Many areas throughout Trinidad have been blanketed with Sahara dust.

A view from San Fernando Hill this morning showed a thick blanket of Saharan Dust over the city and beyond.

The Met Service has raised its hazardous air quality alert to yellow.

It notes that Trinidad and Tobago will experience mainly dull and hazy conditions despite the odd shower.

It also predicts a hazy night with a light breeze.

However the Met Office warns that there is a thick concentration of Saharan dust present in the atmosphere, and a decrease in air quality is expected so persons who are sensitive to this change should take the necessary precautions.
