Met Office updates Yellow Level Alert, says: Brace for more winds and rain

The Meteorological Service of Trinidad and Tobago has announced that the current adverse weather alert has been extended to 6:00pm today.

In an update, the Met Office said there continues to be a high potential for moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms to affect Trinidad and Tobago especially offshore areas.

It said that another area of disturbed weather approaches the islands.

While there is a current lull in activity, an increase in activity is again expected by late morning.

Street/flash flooding, localized ponding, landslides/landslips and gusty winds in excess of 55 km/hr are still likely in areas of heavy showers or thunderstorms.”
