Met Office: Riverine Flood, Adverse Weather Alerts Discontinued

The most recent Riverine flood alert has been discontinued.

The Meteorological Service says water levels along the Caroni and North Oropouche river basins are contained and continuing on a downward trend.

Expected rainfall over the next 24 hours should not overwhelm these watercourses to cause over-spilling of their banks.

Member of the public are urged to remain vigilant and continue to monitor official sources for information.

Meanwhile, an adverse weather alert is discontinued.

The Met Service says most impactful weather has dissipated and settled conditions are present over most areas.

Variably cloudy conditions will however persist into the night-time with showers over few areas.

There is also the low chance for isolated thunderstorm activity.

The public is advised to continue monitoring forecasts, as periods of heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible over the weekend.
