Mayaro MP concerned with PTSC decision to discontinue service to Mayaro and Guayaguayare

Mayaro MP, Rushton Paray, is voicing concern with the decision of the Public Transport Service Corporation to discontinue its bus service from San Fernando to Mayaro and Guayaguayare.

In a media release, MP Paray said PTSC has blamed its decision on the “deteriorating road conditions” at Robert Village, Tableland.

He said this action would distress many working class commuters who depend on the service of the bus company.

Mr Paray said thousands of residents of some of the country’s most rural districts would be adversely affected by PTSC’s decision.

The MP said already, maxi and taxi drivers have been reluctant to service the route because of the severe impact on their vehicles.

MP Paray is again appealing to Works and Transport Minister, Rohan Sinanan, to urgently undertake major infrastructural works at Robert Village and elsewhere along Naparima-Mayaro Road.
