Mayaro men charged with murder of a relative

Two Mayaro men are expected to appear before a Mayaro Magistrate, charged with the murder of their relative, Naresh Suckram, which occurred on Sunday 4th April, 2021.
DHANRAJ SEUKUMAR, 29, and DINESH ROOPNARINE, 29, both of Isthmus Road, Point Galeota, Mayaro, were charged following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on Friday 9th April, 2021.
Suckram, aka ‘Rajesh’, 18, a crab vendor, of the area, was close to his home on Sunday 4th April, 2021, when he got into an altercation with two male relatives, one of whom was armed with a cutlass. During the incident, Suckram was injured on the neck and shoulder.
He died at the scene.
The two suspects were arrested shortly after by officers of the Mayaro Police Station.
Investigations were supervised by ASP Douglas of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2, and the accused were charged by PC Rambhajan, also of the HBI Region 2, on Saturday 10th April, 2021.
