Maxi Taxi Association says drivers have been cleaning their buses regularly in light of COVID-19

Vice President of the Association of Maxi Taxis, Linus Phillip and President of Route 2 Maxi Taxi Association says drivers are managing COVID-19 by sticking to the guidelines given by the Health Ministry.

Speaking with News Power Now this afternoon, Phillip said they were not given a mandate by the Works Ministry to limit the amount of passengers they can pick up along their daily route.

Phillip said that they are following guidelines to sanitize their maxis and have been doing so with each trip the leave at all maxi taxis hubs.

Meanwhile President of the Association of Maxi Taxis, Eon Hewitt issued a release to its members adding that as a responsible association with the interest of Trinidad and Tobago they are asking all maxi taxi owners and operators to refrain from using air conditioning units and also not seat anyone in the front seat next to driver or the one (1) directly behind you next to the window.
