Matura opens its Free Little Library

The community of Matura and Let’s Read have announced the opening of Matura’s Little Free Library.

The Little Free Library box and the benches were expertly constructed by members of the Matura community and Let’s Read donated 150 children’s books. The children from the community are so excited to choose books and read for pleasure! It is our hope that this will start a movement and Little Free Libraries will pop up all over Trinidad and Tobago.

A Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where children from the community may take a book to read for pleasure. It functions on the honour system, you borrow a book and return it to the Little Free Library when you are finished reading it. Community members can also donate their gently used children’s books to the Little Free library.

If you are interested in setting up a LITTLE FREE LIBRARY in your community, please message Let’s Read or email us at [email protected].
