Hayley Matthews scored a sensational century as West Indies recorded the highest run chase in the history of women’s T20Is.
The West Indies captain made a magnificent 132 off just 64 balls – one of the greatest performances in the history of the game – which led the visitors to a seven-wicket victory. It was the highest T20I score for West Indies women.
West Indies made 213-3 to win with a ball to spare and level the series 1-1, on a day that saw a record 425 runs scored at the North Sydney Oval. It was the highest run chase in the history of women’s T20Is.
Earlier in the day Matthews took three wickets and received the Player of the Match award for the seventh match in a row. The victory was set up due to a record partnership of 174 with Stafanie Taylor, who made a valuable 59 off 41 balls.
