In the future all aspirants to the position of Commissioner of Police will have to be qualified with a Masters degree.
This was announced by Acting National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds. Cabinet has agreed that moving forward Commissioners of Police and Deputy CoPs must have a Masters Degree.
He also announced new special units including one for gender-based violence and a formalization of the new SORT unit of the Trinidad and Tobago police service.
