Marijuana and firearm found in San Juan

Police found and seized a firearm and a quantity of marijuana during an anti-crime exercise conducted in San Juan between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday 23rd January, 2021.

Based on information received, the officers proceeded to Boundary Road, San Juan where a search was conducted in a nearby drain located on the eastern side of the roadway, where they found a black bag under a galvanize. The bag contained a firearm fitted with a magazine and one square-shaped light block with a weight of 1068 grammes.

The exercise was spearheaded by Ag/Snr. Supt Winston Maharaj, Supt Alexander, Supt Ramjohn and ASP Pariman, coordinated by Insp. Bharath and supervised by Ag/Sgt Quashie.
