Manufacturers’ and Supermarket Assoc. working together to keep food prices affordable

Consumers concerned by high prices of goods at the supermarkets can breathe a sigh of relief as they head into the Holiday season.

The Trinidad & Tobago Manufacturers’ Association and the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago are reassuring the nation they will work together to keep food prices affordable.

This assurance comes just one week before Divali and about six short weeks before Christmas.

President of the Supermarket Association, Rajiv Dipthee, told News Power Now that the joint initiative was one that had its genesis with the budget and issues brought on by the Covid19 pandemic.

He maintained that this initiative will continue to be sustainable beyond the holiday season.

Mr Dipthee also assured that members of the Association were on board with the initiative.
