A 45-year old man was arrested on Tuesday for killing a woman by lighting her on fire.
Reports indicate that on November 23 the victim, Annie Seepersad, got into an argument with the suspect who resides in Ste. Madeleine. During the argument, the man threw puncheon rum on Seepersad and lit her on fire.
Seepersad, 44, ran to neighbours who helped put out the flames. They took her to the San Fernando General Hospital where she was warded for severe burns, but succumbed to the disease of sepsis on November 29.
The suspect was arrested and remanded into custody.
