Man shot and wounded by relative during dispute

A man is nursing gunshot wounds at hospital after he was shot during an altercation with a younger male relative in Chaguanas on Thursday.

Around 4:30pm, the 50-year-old man was at his mother’s Enterprise home, when he got into an argument with a 34-year-old relative.

Things became heated and the younger man pulled out a pistol from the waist of his pants and pointed it at the victim.

When the older man attempted to wrestle the gun away he was shot in his right ear, and was grazed on the left side of his forehead.

The injured man was rushed to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he was treated and transferred to another hospital.

The 34-year-old relative was arrested and remained in custody up to Friday morning.
