A man who was targeted to be shot “played dead” after the assailant’s bullet missed him.
The 27-year-old estate constable was in the washroom when the assailant approached him and told him to kneel on the ground. The assailant then told the victim that he had orders to kill him and tied his feet with his shoe laces. He then turned off the light and fired a shot. The victim fell down and played dead while the assailant escaped. When coworkers responded, they found the victim tied up. They untied him and called the police.
One spent shell and a live rounds of .9 mm ammunition was recovered on the scene; the gunman is still at large.
Police are continuing investigations.
