A man well known to the police was fatally shot in Caroni on Sunday night.
Doorel “Crime Boss” Simon, of River Branch Road, Caroni, was walking with a woman, south along River Branch Road when two gunmen came out of a silver vehicle and fired several shots at him.
The incident occurred at around 10.10 pm.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting and found Simon’s body near the D&C Convenience Store with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators retrieved spent .40 and 9mm casings and other evidence at the scene
Simon, 44, was said to be the organiser of an illegal zesser party in the area, which was busted by the police on November 22.
Police suspect is killing is drug related.
Investigations are continuing.
