Man jailed for 15 months’ for housebreaking and larceny

A 32-year-old unemployed man of San Fernando, who pleaded guilty to housebreaking and motor vehicle larceny, was sentenced to 15 months’ hard labour for each offence.

NEGUS THOMAS, of Thompson Gardens, Tarodale, appeared virtually before Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he handed the sentence.

The charges stemmed from a report received in May 2021, where a man reported that he secured his home and left. Upon his return, he discovered his brown Toyota Royal Saloon valued at $15,000 along with other items from his home missing.

PC Jugoon, of the Princes Town Criminal Investigations Department (CID), conducted investigations which led to the charges being laid against THOMAS.
