Man granted $100,000 bail for sexually abusing his grandson

A 57-year-old mechanic was granted $100,000 bail with a surety when appeared before a Siparia Magistrate on November 19th charged with sexual penetration of a minor.
The man, who resides in Penal, was also instructed by the Magistrate to remain 100 feet away from the victim and also to have no form of communication with him.
The matter has been postponed to December 17th.
According to the victim, a seven-year-old boy, while he was at the home of his grandfather in November 2018, the man allegedly sexually assaulted him.
An investigation led by Sgt (Ag.) Taylor of South-Western Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) revealed that on November 2nd 2018, around 2pm, while watching television, the accused allegedly pulled down his pants and pushed his penis into his mouth.
He then allegedly pulled out his penis from the boy’s mouth, and placed the boy’s hand on his penis.
The boy also told police that the accused allegedly then put his hands on the victim’s penis over his clothing and told him if he told anyone he would kill him.
The man was subsequently nabbed in an operation conducted by CPU officers.
