Man found with revolver and marijuana in POS

One man was arrested and a firearm and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Port of Spain district overnight.

The exercise, conducted between 9 pm on Sunday 7th February, 2021 and 2 am on Monday 8th February, 2021, included officers of the Port of Spain Division Task Force.

During the exercise, officers arrested a Belmont man for possession of 487 grammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking within 500 meters of a school.

The officers then proceeded to Chinapoo Road, Morvant, where they conducted a search of an abandoned vehicle where they found one revolver and five rounds of ammunition.
Investigations are ongoing.

The exercise was coordinated by W/ACP Beverly Rodriguez and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Terrence Nobee, Supt. Ramnarine, ASP Cumberbatch and supervised by Insp. Knott and Sgt. Alexander.
