The search is on for a male patient who escaped from the St. Anns Medical Hospital. The man was a patient of Ward 27, the Ward that houses those who were sent by the court for psychiatric evaluation and assessment.
Staff at the Hospital say the man was a suspect in a murder case but CEO of the North West Regional Health Authority, Terron Gilchrist, could not confirm this. He did confirm that the man escaped from an abandoned section of the Ward between 7:00 and 8:00p.m last night.
Police and Hospital security responded to the report.
Investigations are continuing.
