Man drowns in Black Stone beach

73 year old Neville Boland, a grave digger of Circle Drive Embaccadere, visited Black Stone beach on Sunday 27th October (Divali holiday) just before going to church; however he never made it out of the sea alive.

According to police reports, Boland got into the water just after 3 pm and got into some difficulties.

Half an hour later, his body was seen floating in the Gulf of Paria.

It was brought out to shore by residents.

Police officials indicated that it is uncertain how Boland drowned but an autopsy is scheduled to be done on the body on Tuesday at the San Fernando mortuary.

Sgt Rahim, Insp’s Figaroo and Harripersad as well as PC Khamraj visited the scene.
