DJ charged with sexual penetration of a minor after meeting on Facebook

A 24-year-old Golconda man is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today charged with sexual penetration of a minor.

The accused, according to a report by the TTPS, was charged with three counts of sexual penetration of the minor on November 26th by WPC Ramroop of the Southern Division Child Protection Unit (CPU).

The charges arose out of a report made by a relative of a 15-year-old female minor that the girl was being sexually abused by a man known to her.

WPC Ramroop commenced a comprehensive investigation during which she discovered that the girl had met a man on Facebook in February 2020, thereafter journeying to his home on several occasions where the man allegedly had sexual intercourse with her.

The girl’s relative found out in September 2020 and reported the acts to the CPU.
The man, a disc jockey, was subsequently arrested and charged and will answer today, Friday 27th November, 2020, before a San Fernando Magistrate.
