One man was arrested and a firearm and a magazine with eight rounds of 40 calibre ammunition were seized during an exercise conducted in the Eastern Division on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm officers conducted a search of four houses on Coronation Road, Upper Sangre Grande.
During the search, one Walter P99 40 calibre pistol serial, fitted with a magazine with eight rounds 40 calibre ammunition was found in the home.
A male tenant of the house was arrested and the items seized.
Police are continuing investigations.
