Man appears in court for murder

A 35-year-old man was remanded into custody yesterday after appearing virtually before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate yesterday charged in connection with the death of Dwayne Reid which occurred on October 1st.

JOSEPH LESTER GLASGOW of Nelson Street, Port-of-Spain, who was charged with murder by PC Lewis of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region One, on November 6th was remanded into custody by Magistrate
Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor. He is scheduled to reappear before the court December 6th.
GLASGOW was charged with the offence following advice from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC, on the same day.
According to police reports, at 7.57 pm on October 1st , Dwayne Victor Reid, also called “GUANA MAN”, was seated on a culvert on the Northern side of the Brian Lara Promenade when he was approached from the rear by a man
who was armed with a gun. It is alleged that a man fired several shots at Reid causing him to collapse on the pavement. The assailant then fled the scene. A suspect was arrested by officers attached to the Inter Agency Task Force on October 30th.
