Man, 47, granted $150,000 bail for sexually touching a child

A 47-year-old man was granted $150,000 bail with a surety for cruelty to a child, sexual touching, and instructing a child to drive a vehicle without permission.

The accused, SHAWN HENRY, will reappear before the Court on April 22nd, 2021. He appeared virtually before the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on March 26th, 2021. He was ordered by Magistrate Jo-Anne Connor to stay 150 feet away from the victim and he must report to the Shirvan Road Police Station every Saturday.

A 15-year-old victim reported that on three separate occasions a man invited her to sit on his lap while seated in the driver side of his motor vehicle and then allowed her to take control of the wheel and drive the motor vehicle and on one occasion he took his hands and squeezed her vagina.

HENRY, of Nelson Boulevard, Adventure, Plymouth, Tobago was charged on March 25th, 2021, following enquiries led by Cpl (Ag) McMillan of the Child Protection Unit, Tobago Division and supervised by Sgt Miller
