Man, 46, shot and killed while leaving his workplace

An employee of the Port of Spain City Corporation was shot and killed while leaving his workplace on Tuesday afternoon.

A police report stated that at around 1.45 pm Delano Russell Pierre, 46, was driving out of the corporation’s compound at the corner of Quarry and Observatory Streets, East Dry River, Port-of-Spain when two gunmen approached his vehicle and shot him several times.

A female co-worker who was in the vehicle at the time fled the scene and ran back to the corporation’s compound.

The gunmen then escaped.

A quantity of spent 9 mm shells was recovered.
