Man, 29, ordered to stay away from girl, 16,

A 29-year-old man was ordered to have no contact with a 16-year-old girl after appearing before a Point Fortin Magistrate today on three sexual charges.

RAMON JIMMEAL FREDRICK, of Ravine Ranch, Egypt Village, Point Fortin, was given the order by Magistrate Alicia Chankar as part of his bail conditions which were set at $150,000.

He was also instructed to report to his local police station once a week. FREDERICK will reappear before the court on June 29th, 2021.

The accused was arrested and charged on May 30th by WPC Renn- Lashley, of the South-Western Division Child Protection Unit following an investigation into a report made by a 16-year-old girl in October 2019.

According to the girl, while travelling in her school uniform, she boarded a vehicle driven by a man who allegedly sexually touched her breasts and belly before kissing her on the lips.

This happened on two occasions.

The girl further alleged the suspect told her if she reported the matter, she would be harmed.

On another day, the girl and her mother boarded a vehicle which was driven by the suspect.

The girl later confided to her mother about the incident and a report was subsequently made to police.

The incidents are said to have occurred between April 30th to June 1st 2019 and August 31st to October 1 st , 2019.

Further investigations led to the arrest of FREDERICK who was charged with two counts of sexual penetration and one count of sexual touching of a child.
