The man who was gunned down near the Valencia Police Post on Monday afternoon has been identified as 26-year-old Jevon Boyce aka “Maggie” of Antigua Road in Wallerfield and Valencia.
Boyce was shot several times about the body around 2 pm on Monday, while standing on the pavement outside the Valencia Market.
Reports state that Boyce had left the Valencia Health Centre where he went to have a dressing done on a recently amputated toe, when he was shot along Alexander Street.
The shooting happened a stone’s throw away from the Valencia Police Post and the suspect quickly made his escape on foot.
Officers from the nearby Police Post, were notified about the shooting and they took Boyce to the Sangre Grande District Hospital where he was declared dead.
Investigations are continuing.
