‘Mad Dog’ on five charges, denied bail

A 25-year-old man was denied bail when he appeared before Magistrate Brambhanan Dubay at the Arima Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

MICHAEL JAMES, also known as ‘Mad Dog’ was charged with wounding with intent, possession of firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of firearm to endanger life and possession of ammunition to endanger life on March 11th 2022.

The accused is due to reappear in court on April 11th, 2022.

James was arrested following an extensive investigation on March 9th, 2022, in Maloney. This, following a report of wounding with intent, which took place on February 20th. He was subsequently charged by WPC Horsford.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Paponette, Supt Edwards, coordinated by Insp. Ward, supervised by Sgt Ammon and Ag Cpl Ali and was conducted by officers attached to the Maloney Criminal Investigation Department.
